YIN YOGA
Yin Yoga
Considered as a mixture between Yoga and meditation, yin yoga is a gentle but intense practice. Closely linked to traditional Chinese medicine, it is a practice that deeply stimulates and strengthens the connective tissues (joints, ligaments, tendons, fascias). Very slow, this practice represents however a real mental challenge since during the whole time of the session, you face yourself stop the time to hear your feelings and release some emotions that you usually run away in your day to day. Ideal for those who seek inner peace and want to free themselves from some deep blockages.
“A real «pause» in our hectic lives”
One of the main objectives of Yin Yoga is to learn to respect its limits, listen to the messages that our body sends us and bring our attention to the present moment, stopping the movement of both body and mind.

Frequently Asked Questions
We solve your doubts
The best time to practice yin yoga is when we change energy, that is, in the morning when we wake up (after having been stopped all night) or in the afternoon/night when we want to calm down to prepare to sleep. Yin is the energy of receptivity, it opposes the energy of Yang action. Yin energy helps us to calm our body, our mind, we leave a relaxed Yin class, to start the day gently or to end the day with the mind and body more relaxed, ready to rest.
Yin Yoga is a practice that can be indicated to everyone. We are all in action, always. We run after time without ever stopping. It is important, for the body and especially for the mind to stop and feel… to be… without acting or thinking. For many people, meditation is very difficult. Yin Yoga could be a more achievable way to meditate thanks to the stretching postures that help us disconnect.
If you are starting your journey in yoga, you may feel some discomfort at first. Holding your postures for a fairly long time can cause different sensations (such as stiffness after exercise). If we follow the instructions of the teacher and that we always respect our limits (which is an important pattern of yin yoga), we will not hurt ourselves.
It is recommended to have a bag (an elongated cushion, filled with buckwheat shells), some yoga blocks, comfortable cushions and blankets. The goal of Yin Yoga is to be comfortable in a posture to relax muscles.
